1) What is your Topic: Earthquake in Haiti

 

 

2) What is the time period of story: 2010

 

 

3)List the major points, facts, events, people, and/or ideas of your story:An earthquake hit Haiti in 2010. It destroyed peoples bodies, peoples homes, and their life. 

 

 

 

 

 

4)Why do you feel this story is important to tell? This story is so important to tell because throughout life people go through many disastrous situations in America but also countries around the world. Here in America we are so fortunate to have people like police officers, firemen, doctors, and every section of the army working day and night to protect us and when disaster hits we need to work together to Help! We need to branch out to other countries and realize how much they have lost in this disaster. When the earthquake hit, they lost everything. People came together to raise the money and supplies they needed to get back on their feet and people are working to this day to help. We need to realize that destruction isn't just happening in Haiti but around the world. 

 

 

5) What are some challenges of telling this story? (hard to find information, personal, etc)Since this occurrence happened not long ago  the information will not be so challenging to find. This story was a major one across the globe and many information could be found about it. 

 

 

 

6) List some images that come to mind when you think about this story? People in pain, the destruction that has happened to the homes of people suffering. 

7) How does your project relate to our CSI Graduate Portfolio?The graduate portfolio is made to not only sum up all the hard work my fellow students and I have done throughout the year but to also prepare us to become Culturally Aware, Aware of World Events and Global Dynamics, and much more. The earthquake that hit Haiti opened my eyes to see that I am so lucky to live in a world where i have everything i need to keep me safe. From the men and women in the army to the newest technologies of medicine, I am always protected. Other people out there don't even have the supplies to live let alone heal the sick when disasters like this happen. Now I am aware that i need to lend a hand.
